Nephrotic syndrome is an illness in which the kidney loses protein in the urine. This causes the protein in blood to drop and water moves into the body tissues causing swelling (edema). The usual areas where the swelling is seen are the eyes and the abdomen. Also urine output is decreased which leads to weight gain due to water retention. Case History A 9 year old boy was suffering with Nephrotic syndrome, Proteinuria since 2001. The child, who had been to a doctor with edema round his eyes, was recommended a urine test. The urine test confirmed the doubts of Nephrotic Syndrome. Being staunch believers of homeopathy, the patient parents tried homeopathy for his condition, and were happy with the results. However, when his condition aggravated they turned to allopathy for help. The child was put on Wysolone, a steroid for treatment. Wysolone has side effects in high doses over prolonged usage. | These include stomach ulcers, high blood pressure, increase in blood sugar, thinning of bones, weight gain, etc. His parents were unhappy with the fact that their 9-year old child was on such strong medications. They decided to come back to homeopathy and chose Dr. Aamir’s Online Homeopathic Clinic for help. Treatment The child was brought to our Lahore clinic with his complaint of Nephrotic syndrome. The patient started taking medicines in 2003. But since Nov 2004, he has stopped all medicines, and is doing very well.
